📍Sudbury, ON

Cherelynn has spent more than a decade working with small businesses, nonprofits, and public sector organizations in bookkeeping and accounting roles. She holds a BA in Humanities, a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting Practice, and is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) with CPB Canada.

Cherelynn has always been drawn to work that combines practical systems-thinking with community impact. She enjoys making financial information accessible and useful, freeing up service providers to make informed choices, manage confidently, and maximize the benefits they provide to their communities.

These days, she makes her home in Sudbury, ON on the traditional lands of the Atikameksheng, the Anishnawbek, and the Wahnapitae First Nation. She enjoys exploring the great outdoors, joining in community activities, and tending to her garden!

📍Tkaronto/Toronto, ON

Nick has worked in nonprofit administration in both the arts and environment sectors for over a decade. As a classical bassist, Nick has performed with a variety of ensembles, ranging from the Toronto Symphony and the Canadian Opera Company to the Guess Who’s touring orchestra and the soundtracks of various CBC projects.

In addition to his BA and MMus, Nick is a certified QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor and a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) with CPB Canada. He holds a Foundations in Accounting Certificate from Toronto Metropolitan University.

Nick’s passion has always been to support others’ passions through impactful work. Outside of work, Nick loves virtually every kind of music, international and arthouse cinema, exploring Canada’s ecosystems, and appeasing his tabico cat Scully.

📍Vancouver, BC

Bea (she/her) is an arts administrator, facilitator, producer, textile artist, and singer. She is a queer fourth-generation settler of Jewish, German, and Scottish ancestry who lives as an uninvited guest on the stolen territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She brings over 12 years of experience in non-profit management, including for the Community Arts Council of Vancouver, Still Moon Arts Society, the Frank Theatre Company, Vancouver Park Board, the City of Richmond, and Collingwood Neighbourhood House. She has a BA with Honours from SFU and is an alumna of Groundswell Alternative Business School.

Bea enjoys bringing this diverse expertise to help Chickadee clients improve their operations and financial systems, and to collaborate successfully with our team of bookkeepers. Since 2023 Bea has created robust foundations for Chickadee’s client success, and led the development of new services, like Budgeting.

Outside of work, Bea cultivates a deep relationship with plants and the natural world to create sewn and handwoven works with natural dyes that she grows in her garden or ethically wildcrafts.

📍Edmonton, AB

Lacey brings creativity, global perspective, and practical expertise to her bookkeeping. With over a decade in arts non-profits and years supporting Indigenous organizations through full-cycle grant administration, she offers well-rounded experience in community-driven operations, financial stewardship, and organizational support.

As a non-profit board treasurer, Lacey discovered her enthusiasm for budgets and spreadsheets, combining her strengths in organization, service, and problem-solving. She holds Bookkeeping Professional and Payroll Professional certificates from Bow Valley College, building on an academic background focused on humans and the environment, including a BA in Psychology from the University of Alberta, a BSc in Environmental Practices from Royal Roads University.

Chickadee’s commitment to motion over perfection immediately resonated with her. Outside of work, you’ll find Lacey outdoors, cycling, enjoying local music, or planning her next travels adventure.

📍Calgary, AB

In Shannon’s early years she was most drawn to the arts and social sciences. She graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours degree in International Development, followed by a postgraduate certificate in International Project Management from Humber College.

During this time, Shannon worked in various administrative roles and discovered a knack for numbers and a love of spreadsheets! After graduating, she found her niche working as Operations & Finance Director at Operation Groundswell, which has led to over 10 years of experience in nonprofit management. Shannon, now a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) with CPB Canada, is currently completing an Accounting Diploma at Bow Valley College.

Shannon recently relocated from Toronto to Calgary, the Ancestral Territory of the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, Tsuut’ina, Stoney Nakoda, and Otipemisiwak Métis Nations. As a nature-lover and avid hiker, birder, and amateur wildlife photographer she is thrilled to be able to visit the mountains any time she wants!

📍Gatineau, QC

Evan’s diverse experiences across the public and private sector have equipped him with a holistic approach to support clients and community with precision and care.

Evan holds a BA in Psychology from Carleton University and a Diploma in Accounting from Okanagan College. After seven years of working in restaurants across Canada, he transitioned to the nonprofit sector. There, his roles supporting at-risk youth and working with a spiritual community broadened his perspective on the diverse life experiences of people in Canada. Evan’s curiosity helps him continuously learn about non-profit finances and work through payroll puzzles. He looks forward to attaining his Certified Professional Bookkeeper certification in the coming years.

One of Evan’s favourite words is “sonder”—the realization that every person, including strangers, has a life as intricate as one’s own. Beyond his laptop, Evan enjoys rock-climbing and being in nature.
